Benjamin Waring Partridge IV

Over the past five decades, Waring Partridge has been a senior business manager, entrepreneur, public servant, management consultant, inventor, investor, and Naval Officer.

In 1967, he graduated from Yale College as a Navy ROTC Midshipman with a BA in economics. He is also a Catholic University Law School graduate and a member of the Washington, D.C. Bar.

After college, he served as a US Navy Officer, as a Deck Division and Gunnery officer on an aircraft carrier in the Atlantic and Mediterranean, ashore in Vietnam, and the Office of the Navy’s Chief of Information in Washington, DC. 

After four years of active Navy duty, Partridge continued his government service as chief of staff for two US House of Representatives members, Executive Assistant to the US Trade Representative in the Ford Administration, and acting US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce. 

He then spent over a decade as a strategy consultant with McKinsey & Co. and the Partridge Group Limited. In this capacity, he worked for US, England, and Holland clients. Partridge followed his consulting service with about a decade as an officer of AT&T (where he was awarded 16 patents).

As an entrepreneur and investor, he created The Partridge Group (management consulting and investing), VI Risk Capital (in Lloyd’s of London), wireless telecommunications start-ups, and the Partridge Foundation. He was also an adjunct professor at Columbia University Business School for a semester.

He currently serves on boards for Kent School, Quinnipiac University, The Partridge Foundation, The Gruber Foundation at Yale, The Jackson School of Global Affairs at Yale, The Nathan Hale Foundation, The American Fund for Westminster Abbey (UK), and The US Navy Memorial Foundation (emeritus).
